Celebrity chef launches Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Women in Agriculture
Lincolnshire born TV chef Rachel Green was joined by 120 guests at a special event at Doddington Hall last month to inaugurate the group which aims to support women working in the rural econmy sector.
The event has so far raised almost £2,000 for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. Guests at Doddington Hall were given a rare opportunity to network with other women from the region’s rural economy and share experiences of working in the sector. They heard from a panel of inspirational speakers who talked about the career challenges they have faced. They also gave the audience advice on how they can overcome their own challenges.
The afternoon was chaired by Rachel Green and included talks from Karen Jobling, CEO of Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance; Rachel Petheram, owner and founder of Catkin Flowers at Doddington Hall; and Emily Norton who heads up the rural research team at Savills.
The LNWIA has been set up by a consortium of local businesses made up of AMC, Forrester Boyd Chartered Accountants, Langleys Solicitors, the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society and Savills.
Whether a farm owner, worker or secretary, the WIA network provides support in what can be an isolating industry. With a calendar of events due to be released soon for the WIA group, it is hoped it will continue to be a success and a platform for all women in the Lincolnshire region involved in agriculture to come together and support each other.

Grantham school joins Carol Service in celebration of town’s hospital![]()

Pupils from St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy are taking part in the first Carol Service to celebrate the special relationship Grantham and District Hospital has with the town and surrounding communities.![]()

The school children will join in the singing of favourite Christmas Carols as well as perform their own set musical piece at the Carol Service on Thursday 11th December at 7pm, in St Wulfram’s church, Grantham.![]()

Deputy Head Teacher Olivia Mumford said: “The Carol Service is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to share the joy of music while showing appreciation for the incredible work done at Grantham and District Hospital. It’s a privilege to support such an important event in our town."![]()

The Carol Service has been organised by United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity, who work closely with staff at Grantham and District Hospital and provides those extras for staff and patients that NHS budgets are unable to fund. ![]()
