Tasty treat for Lincoln high street

The Lincolnshire specialist housing provider recognised the hard work of its staff and volunteers at its 20th annual celebration evening.

Queues formed from 8am on Saturday 30th November when Doughnotts opened their newest branch in Lincoln’s Cornhill. The Nottingham based, hand-made doughnut company was founded by Megan Scaddan and Wade Smith only four years ago. With a start-up budget of £10, a wok and the family kitchen, the enterprise began as a way of raising funds for a holiday. Six months later the couple had their own micro-bakery, supplying to cafes, bars and food fairs around Nottingham. Doughnotts has since opened its first retail shop in King Street, Nottingham, followed by branches in Derby, Leicester and now Lincoln.

“We have a growing team of dedicated and hardworking staff,” said Megan. “We sold around 6,000 doughnuts over our opening weekend in Lincoln – more than we have ever sold in one of our shops on an opening weekend – and we stayed open an extra half-hour to serve everyone waiting in the queue.

“We are delighted to welcome you to Lincoln’s first independent doughnut and coffee shop to select your favourite tasty treat.”
