Big buzz about bees
Home to the native British honeybee, Bees & Co is an award-winning, ethical bee farming company which is dedicated to caring for bees, while promoting education and welfare.
Beekeepers and tutors Salma and Khalil Attan are dedicated to breeding and rearing the native British species while also hosting fun, hands-on experience days and informative courses for adults at their apiary site in the grounds of the Burghley House Estate.
“Our aim is to give people a broader understanding and appreciation of local honey, including how it’s made and where it comes from” says Salma, who takes pride in producing clear, set and comb 100% British honey exclusively for farm shops and independent retailers.
“We use sustainable methods to raise our bees and always give utmost care and attention to their wellbeing; our native honeybees have zero carbon footprint unlike other imported non-native species and it’s vital that society celebrates and appreciates the excellent honey they provide.”
