MARKET RASEN RIDER QUALIFIES FOR HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW
An amateur rider from Market Rasen has qualified to compete in the South Essex Insurance Brokers (SEIB) Search For A Star Championships at the prestigious Horse of The Year Show (HOYS) 2013. Sammy Crowe earned her coveted place in the final at the recent qualifying show held at Vale View Equestrian Centre, Leicestershire on 11th August.
LOCAL HORSE TIPPED FOR FUTURE SUCCESS AT THE BEF FUTURITY
Local horse breeder Julia Hodkin, of Future Sport Horses in Spalding, had a very successful outing at the Baileys Horse Feeds/ British Breeding/British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Futurity held on 26th August at Solihull Riding Centre, with a filly foal she has bred.
The BEF Futurity Evaluation series aims to identify British bred young potential sport horses and ponies destined for careers in dressage, eventing, showjumping or endurance, and may even find the Olympic Champions of the future. An elite premium (a score of 9.00 or above out of 10.00) indicates that the horse has the outlook and potential to compete at international level.
FUN DAY OUT FOR THE FAMILY
Norton Disney Horse Trials takes place at Whitehall Farm in Norton Disney, near Newark between 25th and 27th October. The event is organised by husband and wife team, Joe and Ali Weller along with Georgie Fowle from the event management company Addoastra.
Joe and Ali moved to Whitehall Farm in 2005, where they set up AJW Equestrian, a business building and designing cross country courses, as well as a livery yard and small farm. Joe is a renowned course builder within the Equestrian industry and has extensive experience being involved with courses such as Burghley, Houghton Hall, and last year the London 2012 Olympics. Having always been involved with horse trials in one form or another Ali and Joe decided to run their own event and in 2010 Norton Disney Horse Trials was born.
Every year Norton Disney Horse Trials has a nominated charity, and this year Macmillan Cancer Support are the charity of choice.
“Norton Disney always promises to be a fun day out for all the family. You can shop, watch some of the world’s top riders, and grab a bite to eat all in one place so please do come and join us!” said Joe.
