DCP celebrates in style

The Darron Childs Practice (DCP) recently celebrated its 15th year anniversary with a Charity Gala Dinner 15 miles north of Lincoln Cathedral, in the heart of RAF Bomber Command country at the Hemswell Court Hotel.
As jaw dropping ball gowns and tuxes crossed the carpet, sponsors including Lincolnshire Life were given a shout-out for prizes provided for the event. These ranged from a Taste of Lincolnshire hamper, to a view from The Shard and a framed collectors’ football shirt.

Following a welcome introduction, founder Darron Childs welcomed guests who had travelled from as far afield as Norfolk, Oxford and Nottingham as well as all four corners of the county to enjoy the celebratory event. Guests then enjoyed a sumptuous meal and were encouraged to participate in fundraising activities, including a VIP Prize Draw and a ‘funny money’ Casino.

After dinner Darron explained that raising funds for charity is at the heart of the business and DCP Team had already raised tens of thousands of pounds through Big Walks, sponsored skydives and an array of other activities.

Through DCP and its sister company, CPA Ethical Wealth, Darron and his team also sponsor community sport, through the Horse & Jockey (Juniors) FC, who were runners-up in their first season. DCP is also the home kit sponsor of the National League North’s Gainsborough Trinity FC, otherwise known as Holy Blues, whose history dates back to 1873 when the club was formed by the local vicar of Gainsborough’s new Holy Trinity parish.

DCP is a wealth management and financial planning consultancy based at Lea, Gainsborough. Clients interested in heritage are assured a warm welcome when visiting The Lindens, as DCP office was once the ancestral Dower House to the Anderson Family of Lea, from the 1600s to the early twentieth century.

In recent years the Practice has gently expanded. The Practice advice team consists of Darron Childs, who has extensive Charity and Trustee experience, having been a former Ecclesiastical Financial Consultant; Michael Jones, who specialises in Individual and Business Owner planning; and Angela Davy-Makwana, who joined the Practice from HSBC Premier.

DCP provides full coverage throughout the county and has clients throughout the UK. DCP also has its own in-house Client Experience Team led by Alice Denton. This team prides itself on providing a high level personal service for clients and a recent survey graded the Practice 100% in terms of satisfaction in three areas: level of contact appropriate to needs, financial objectives met and clients recommending the service to others. Being able to provide a truly personal service has resulted in one in four new clients being introduced to the Practice via existing clients.

The Practice’s core service is investment strategy and advice for Individuals, Business Owners and Trustees. The Practice currently manages around £70 million worth of global investments on behalf of 500 clients and works with some of the most talented investment managers in the world.

The Gala Dinner raised a total of £4,500 for charity and the team are already planning their next event for Christmas at The Lindens in December.
