Description

We’ve really enjoyed putting together this month’s issue, which is packed with great reads and inspirational features, including fabulous wedding ideas, stylish fashion and expert tips on wellness.

Kate Chapman caught up with Lincolnshire fashion designer Jessica Townsend, a graduate of the prestigious London College of Fashion, whose House of Flint brand promotes eco-friendly values. (page 76).

A world away from fast fashion, Jessica’s sustainable creations are versatile, long lasting and adjust to the wearer’s body. She believes more people are embracing the slow fashion ethos: “Things shouldn’t be saved for special occasions – we should wear them every day. These are pieces you can keep for years, not just something you will only wear once, and can be kept for a lifetime.”

Keeping with the theme of creativity, Kate Chapman also met members of The Boston Stitchers, a community group which combines its unique heritage with innovative new projects (p.32). This includes a recent project called Story in Stitch, a series of giant picture books which depict Boston’s history. Each one has been given a positive, one-word name – Grow, Play, Build, Create, Listen and 2020 – and went on display at Fydell House earlier this summer.

utumn is traditionally a time to plan ahead for a memorable wedding day and our special My Lincolnshire Wedding supplement includes some great ideas for distinctive venues and suppliers (p.57).

Don’t miss the chance to win your dream wedding or special event venue date, courtesy of the stunning historic Sessions House in Spalding (p.62).
