“Old Place, New Perspectives” chronicles the sometimes turbulent history of the Old Manor House, Sleaford, a version of which has stood on the site since at least the sixteenth century. The volume forms part of a wider project by Old Sleaford Heritage Group, which began with a community dig in 2015, unearthing evidence of habitation on the site as far back as the late Iron Age.

Lincolnshire is represented by an array of figures, many of whom were members of the Lincolnshire Automobile Club – whose president, Baronet Sir Hickman Bennett Bacon, is also among the local notables featured here; as is Charles Pennell of the famous seed business (now garden centres). Over 1,300 pages, supplemented by 800 archival photographs.
